Northeastern State University, Joe M. Anderson Herbarium (NOSU-NOSU)The Joe M. Anderson Herbarium was founded in 1970 and is housed at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. Northeastern State University is a public higher education institution, and is the oldest institution of higher learning in Oklahoma. The herbarium has approximately 5170 specimens, and faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students have been actively adding specimens to the collection each year. The collection is focused on the regional plants of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, with a number of specimens collected by forester Elbert L Little Jr. (1907-2004).
