Sierra Pacific Industries-Forestry (SPIF)The Sierra Pacific Industries Forestry Division manages ±1.7 million acres in northern and central California. Our lands are located in the Northwestern California, Cascade Ranges, and Sierra Nevada Regions of the California Floristic Province, and the Modoc Plateau Region of the Great Basin Floristic Province. Most of the specimens are collected during rare plant surveys within forestland and associated habitats, accompanied by various plot based studies, and includes both rare and common species. Our target list of endangered/threatened/rare plants comprises ±400 species. In addition to protecting rare plants to support long-term management strategies, we also conduct forest and watershed research.
