Howard Payne University Herbarium (HPC)

The Howard Payne University Herbarium was founded in 1965 and now includes about 60,000 specimens. It is particularly rich in specimens from Central Texas, particularly the Edwards Plateau, and Sonora and Baja California, Mexico, and has strong holdings of ferns from Texas. Its notable collectors include J.L. Blassingame, U.T. Waterfall, W.T. McCart, C.M. Rowell, Jr. and J. Stanford.
