Description: Very common. Several overlapping spikes (3-4) on culms > leaves. Spikes gynacandrous. Bracts subtending spikes inconspicuous. Female scales >= perigynia. Perigynia narrow, with narrow, winged & serrulate margins, and elongate, narrow base. Stigmas 2.
