Habitat:
Pinyon-Juniper-Scrub Oak community. Fossil Creek Road heading west. On hillside on N facing slope approximately 45%.

Description:
Occasional succulent perennial, height 4 feet, width 2.5 feet with a single truck and branching above; trunk green with gray at base; spines completely covering pads, golden, 3-5 per areole, 7-8 rows of areoles; glochids golden, thicker on apex of ultimate pads; outer perianth yellow with greenish-brown mid-stripe, inner perianth yellow with reddish-orange mid-stripe; stigma lobe number 7-10, yellow to yellow green; style cream; filaments cream.

Flowers.
