Lower moister section of large old field now being restored to prairie; assoc. w/ few plants each of a few native prairie species: Asclepias syriaca, Monarda fistulosa, Ratibida pinnata, Solidago canadensis, & Symphyotrichum novae-angliae. Locally abundant, behaving as if invasive, obviously escaped from planted prairie on E-facing slope 80 to 180 yds. to the west across a little ravine. Management work begun this past Feb., whole field herbicided in May to try to kill Canada goldenrod.
Planted stand on adjacent slope contains all the usual suspects of a "restored" prairie, including Coreopsis tripteris and, tellingly, Echinacea purpurea. Sheet 1 of 2 sheets.
