Habitat: Mesic to wet-mesic floodplain forest, currently not able to flood [land-locked]. In deep shade.
Substrate: Glacial boulders, humus; clay-loam soil.
Associated Species: Acer saccharinum, Juglans nigra, Quercus spp, Asarum canadense, Dentaria laciniata
Description: Dark green perennial sedge, not glaucous; narrow, compact, slightly erect clumps
