United States, Florida, Dixie, ca 2.5 map miles NE of Suwannee, over 20 miles SW of Old Town on C.R. 349 to where 349 runs E-W; shortly after road into landfill to N (and ca 0.4 mile E of road to water treatment plant to N), at point adjacent to unmarked road to S go 1800' N.
Most easily accessed by following spray-field to W (part of water treatment facility) to N-most corner; along western edge, in scrubby flatwoods remnants. Mosaic of pine plantation, dome swamp, and flatwoods (scrubby and mesic) remnants in area.
Shrub 1-1.5 m tall; locally abundant. Associates: ^Serenoa^ ^repens^, ^Quercus^ ^chapmanii^, ^Q^. ^myrtifolia^, ^Q^. ^geminata^, ^Lyonia^ ^fruticosa^, ^L^. ^lucida^, ^Vaccinium^ ^myrsinites^.
