Locality: United States, Illinois, Fayette, IDOT U.S. Route 51 Project Area; Clinton, Fayette, Jefferson, Marion, Shelby, and Washington Counties.

Habitat: Degraded floodplain forest several hundred meters east of the Kaskaskia River, near Vandalia. Overstory and understory included: Acer negundo, A. saccharinum, Betula nigra, Fraxinus lanceolata, Populus deltoides, Quercus bicolor, Q. palustris, and Salix nigra. Other associates included: Aster ontarionis, Boehmeria cylindrica, Campsis radicans, Carex grayii, C. muskingumensis, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Clematis pitcheri, Laportea canadensis, Polygonum virginianum, Ruellia strepens, and Vitis cinerea.
