Growing above Dickson Creek, on wooded slope dominated by Acer saccharum and with Fraxinus americana, Celtis occidentalis, Juglans nigra, Aesculus glabra, Ulmus americana, Eupatorium rugosum, Podophyllum peltatum, Botrychium virginianum and edge of open old field.
