Habitat: Sandy loam, wet, open ditches, poorly drained, not in standing water.; Periodically mowed road right-of-way (meadow-like) with Carex festucacea, C. oklahomensis, Panicum acuminatum adjoining open shrubland and flatwoods remnant dominated by Acer rubrum, Cornus drummondii, Quercus palustris.; Occasional coarse-based sedge, spikes nodding.
