Locality: USA, Colorado, Jefferson, West side of Heritage Road; Just north of where Heritage road joins west Colfax avenue, east of Apex Trail parking lot.

Habitat: Moist low-lying area next to road; wetland area nearby, cattails, Cottonwoods, and willow along ephemeral Apex Gulch creek, approximately 50 feet from ephemeral creek.
Occurrence Remarks: Biennial, most plants in area 4 feet tall, long taproot, white flowers that start flowering in the middle of oblong head, plants and flower heads armored with spines and spiny bracts.
