Locality: United States, Mississippi, Scott, MISSISSIPPI. Scott Co.: Harrell Prairie Hill Botanical Area, USFS Bienville Nat'l Forest; T6N, R8E Sec 26 NE1/4; south of road in ditch on east side. 1 mi S of Forest, MS on Hwy. 501 then 2 miles E on FS 518; 550' elevation; 32.2012N, 89.2629W.

Habitat: Tall grass prairie, dominated by Schizachyrium scoparium and Sorgastrum nutans. Highly calcareous soil which inhibits pine growth.
Occurrence Remarks: Herb, 1.5 m tall, just beginning to bloom. Collected for the Herbarium of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science for the Natural Heritage Program Field Survey. Three sheets.
