Habitat: Freshwater marsh
Substrate: Wetland soil
Associated Species: Distichlis spicata, Typha latifolia, Ranunculus cymbalaria (not currently observable), Glaux maritima (not currently observable), Acer negundo, Populus fremontii hybrid, and many weedy species nearby (Russian Olive drupes abundant on ground)
Description: Aquatic phase growing on muddy, moist soil (not submerged)
Reproductive Condition: Vegetative
Occurrence Remarks: Overwintering basal leaves/rosette-like; while described as an annual in most of our local floras, it can be either a winter annual or biennial in our area, or possibly a short-lived perennial depending on conditions.
