Rich calcareous prairie fen, a large peat mound mostly dominated low shrubs and Carex spp. Especially important species: Carex stricta, Pentaphylloides floribunda, Betula pumila, Cornus stolonifera, Eupatorium maculatum, Carex spp., Schoenoplectus acutus. Species collected here on this date: Carex granularis, C. hystericina, C. leptalea, C. sterilis, C. stricta, Panicum, Scirpus pendulus. Forming a dense mat, long, arching culms rooting at tips; dominant in very wet soil in one small area in the highest elevation of the fen.
