Extensive (20-acre), diverse, sedge-grass meadow (calcareous fen) developed on a combination of peat and marl. Slightly drier, somewhat shrubby area, with Pentaphylloides floribunda, Physocarpus opulifolius, Rhamnus alnifolia, Toxicodendron vernix, also Bromus ciliatus, Campanula aparinoides var. grandiflora, Doellingeria umbellata, Eutrochium maculatum, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Solidago uliginosa, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Thelypteris palustris var. pubescens, etc. Locally common (120 plants) in one smallish area.
