Wet prairie(acc. to prevalent spp.)-sedge meadow (acc. to dominance by Carex lasiocarpa) w/ low hummocks on black loamy sand mucky in places. Occurring in light shade of scattered invading jack pines. Associated with Aster hesperius. Rays white. [annotator note: Intermingled with Aster hesperius, both being occasional. A. borealis population seems to be rather more uniform . Involucre 4.3-5.1mm high.]
