Location Remarks: Powderhorn Lake Forest Preserve, Hegewisch (Chicago). Eastside of Brainard Ave, 1/2 mile north of Brainard/Burnham Ave. intersection. Collected on ridge 2 near northeast border.
Habitat: Black Oak Savanna, very open sandy area
Associated Species: Quercus velutina, Rhus radicans, Monarda punctata, Verbena stricta, Eupatorium altissimum, Andropogon gerardii, A. scoparius, Lespedeza capitata, Solidago speciosa, Baptisia leucantha
Description: Multistemmed herb with yellow flowers, petals pointed. Immature green to tan seed pods present
