Locality: United States, Georgia, Sumter, Americus, infrequent in dry woods near Cripple Creek, an intermittent stream, on E side of Americus, Sumter Co. Elev. Ca. 400 ft.

Habitat: In leaf litter covering Carnegie Sandy loam.

Description: Staminate ls. with light green corollas and tanish anthers. Frs. imm., light green, the hooked bristles distally whitish. Lvs. bright green above, paler beneath. Stems dullish green.

Occurrence Remarks: Associated ground-cover included Lonicera japonica, smilax bona-nox, and seedlings of Quercus falcata. Understory trees and high-climbing vines were Prunus serotina, P. caroliniana, Ulmus alata, Sassafras albidum, Vitis rotundifolia, and Parthenocissus quinquefolia. Dominants were loblolly and shortleaf pines
