Habitat: swamp
Substrate: soft, black, mucky soil
Associated Species: Juncus effusus, Carex lurida, Saururus cernuus, Boehmeria cylindrica, Salix nigra, Alnus serrulata
Description: Petals white, rather crinkly; anthers and pollen yellow; filaments greenish white. Frs. (imm.), sepals, pedicels, and axis of inflorescence pale green. Sepals tannish in age. Some racemes twining slightly on upright stems of lizard's-taol. Herbage generally medium green, lighter toward base.
