Habitat: Sandy gravel soil. Associates: Rhus ovata- Quercus cornelius muleri-Prunus fremontii / Eriogonum fasciculatum spp. polifolium.
Occurrence Remarks: Stems maroon, cyathia appendages white (turning pink), glands dark maroon. Note: Cyathia appears to have <15 male flowers!
