Habitat: More or less open, dry Pinus durangensis-Quercus hypoleucoides woods in barranca to west of falls. On dry slopes, S-facing, beneath cliff and on cliff.
Description: 3-4 pads per chain, up to 2.5 dm diameter, spines at right angles or descending at 45 degrees, yellowish at base, cream at tip.
