Description: Sprawling shrub, to 0.40 x 0.80 m; stems segments circular to obovate, 10 x 12 x 1 cm; paristachies 6; areoles eliptic, 2.5 x 5 mm; whool gray aging black; glochids redish forming a brush in upper portion of areole, 4 to 8 mm; spines in upper half of stem 0-2(4); subulate, redish brown or white, erect to apressed. Fruits fleshy, obpiriform, light red when ripe to 4 x 3 cm; mesocarp light red, juicy; seeds circular angulated, to 6 cm in diameter, arile thick, 1.5 mm, tan.
