Habitat: Slow moving stream bed. Moderately dense mats (less than 1 m square) in sandy soil, full sun to partial shade, spreading vegetatively via rhizomes; water diversion a threat (landowner doesn't own water rights).
Associated Species: Eleocharis, Veronica, Paspalum, Polypogon monspeliensis, Baccharis salicifolia.
