Habitat: One large and spreading clump of plants under large Populus grandidentata. Shoots of Rubus strigosus often within. Damp soil near edge of a large grassy ephemeral pond in woodland.

Occurrence Remarks: Known here for at least 25 years and spreading slowly. Often out of ground in December and with lower bunds under snow in February. Flowers white.
