Habitat: Shaded rocky slope in pine-oak woodland.
Associated Species: Pinus ponderosa, Quercus arizonica, Quercus hypoleucoides, Juniperus deppeana, Garrya wrightii, Brickellia grandiflora, Gentianella microcalyx, Zuloagaea bulbosa.
Description: Perennial forb, locally common; basal leaves lyrate-pinnatifid with large ultimate lobe; scape reddish, becoming woolly distally; phyllaries green and purplish red; flowering heads cleistogamous.
