Habitat: Side canyon off main drainage; oak woodland on N-facing slope.
Associated Species: Quercus emoryi, Quercus oblongifolia, Dasylirion wheeleri, Nolina microcarpa, Prosopis velutina, Cirsium neomexicanum, Mimosa aculeaticarpa var. biuncifera, Muhlenbergia rigens, Disakisperma dubium, Bouteloua curtipendula.
Description: Succulent shrub, 1.8 m; 2 trunks, both extending horizontally about 1 m then ascending; leaves 75–80 cm long, leaf tips stiff; half of inflorescence stalk within upper leaves.
