(Glendo in Platte Counry) Medicine Bow National Forest: Laramie Mountains: La Bonte Canyon: vicinity of Curtis Gulch Campground. (From end of WY Hwy 91: 3.0 road mi S to jct of Counry Road 24 [=Cold Spring Road] and County Road 16 [=Old Ft Fetterman Road], 12.85 road mi on County Road 16 to La Bonte Road [=FSR 658], then 3.45 road mi to site.) Montane Juniperus scopulorum-Pinus flexilis-Pinus ponderosa-Pseudotsuga menziesii forest on steep, rocky, S and SW-facing slopes above confluence of Curtis Gulch and La Bonte Creek, with shrubby understory dominated by Artemisia tridentata, Juniperus communis, Physocarpus monogynus, Populus tremuloides and Purshia tridentata, and along creek by Acer glabrum, Cornus sericea, Prunus virginiana and Rosa nutkana. Tall granite cliffs at top of slope with abundant boulders on slopes below; coarse sandy soil.
Scattered. Evidently spreading from plantings around rd. Shrubs to 3 m high. Petals yellow.
