Habitat: SE of PiƱon; Artemisia tridentata scrub on fine sand with Bouteloua gracilis, Cylindropuntia whipplei, Echinocereus fendleri, Escobaria vivipara, Elymus elymoides, Ephedra cutleri, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Mirabilis multiflora, Juniperus osteosperma, Opuntia fragilis, O. macrorhiza, Pinus edulis and Sclerocactus parviflorus.
Description: Common, trailing to 5-6dm; flower bud in meiosis of microgametogenesis collected 11 May 2008 from individual transplanted to outside garden, Chino Valley, Arizona; n=33; flowers photographed and collected (4) from same individual 27 May 2008; fruits photographed and collected 2 September 2008; additional flowers photographed and pressed 20 May 2009; stems collected 20 February 2010.
