Habitat: On rocky slope above perennial reach of intermittent stream in rolling to low mountainous mesquite-juniper-oak woodland.
Substrate: Stony soil.
Associated Species: Prosopis velutina, Juniperus deppeana, Platanus wrightii, Quercus emoryi, Quercus oblongifolia, Vitis arizonica.
Description: 1 - 1.5 meter tall, erect prickly pear cactus.
