Locality: United States, Illinois, Wabash Co., Ridgway Trail (W side, and E side of Coffee Creek) Beall Woods State Park, on IL-1 E of Keensburg and 6 mi. S of Mount Carmel; vicinity of the banks of the Wabash River; Keensburg 7.5 topographic quadrangle; Visitor Center at: 9285 Beall Woods Avenue, Mount Carmel, IL 62863. T2S, R13W, Sec.11.
Habitat: Alluvial soil; low level areas in wet open ground; general area has virgin forest; this site is wet-mesic floodplain forest on a raised terrace dominated by Quercus macrocarpa, Celtis, and Carya spp.; understory includes Carex spp., Elymus, Asimina, Galium aparine, Laportea canadensis.
