Description: Flower diameter 55-65 mm, length 65-78 mm outer perianth yellow-green with a faint reddish-purple or reddish-brown midstripe, inner perianth yellow or yellow-green with brighter breen at base, blooms in afternoon; Stigma lobe number 7-8, color pale yellow or cream or chartreuse. Fruit collected by R. Trelease and N. Foisy on 2 October 2001. Fleshy fruit diameter 19-23 mm, length 59-74 mm, color green, dry fruit diameter 12-18 mm, length 40-68 mm, color black, fruit covered in spines and glochids; Seed color tan.
