Description:
Oriental Bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus). Trail to Dead Horse Bay, Brooklyn, NY. Much of the "greenery" of disturbed areas around New York City is actually the highly invasive all-conquering Celastrus orbiculatus. Have never encountered Celastrus scandens, the native species.
