Found on steep slope across from Roaring River with rocky soil. Area was well shaded. Soils were moist and acidic.
Herbaceous plant growing 10 inches tall. Leaves were pinnately lobed, and stems contained yellow sap within. Terminal inflorescence was bright yellow, with four wrinkled petals, one pistil, and multiple stamen.
