Habitat: Canyon in mountainous oak woodland.
Substrate: Sandy soil, among stones in streambed.
Associated Species: Prosopis velutina, Arctostaphylos pungens, Cercocarpus montanus, Juniperus deppeana, Mimosa aculeaticarpa var. biuncifera, Quercus oblongifolia, Quercus emoryi, Quercus arizonica, Rhus aromatica.
Description: 0.75 meter tall ascending annual herb with log bright scarlet flowers.
Occurrence Remarks: Growing from wet soil of streambed.
