Habitat: Amoeboid fen on either side of Shiawassee River. Significantly encroached, few open areas remain. Some portions appear to be high quality Poweshiek habitat Typha latifolia/Lythrum salicaria dominated area just north of Shiawassee River. Note: Zizania aquatica found on Shiawassee River just downstream of bridge. Fairly weedy area. Common species include Carex lasiocarpa, C. stricta, Campanula aparinoides, and many Salix spp. Ground moist but firm.
Description: Flowers -NA.Common; about 2-3 per sq. m; growing up to 1.3 m tall; none with reproductive parts; growing with Lythrum salicaria, Typha latifolia, and Campanula aparinoides; close to stream bank.
