Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Sedge meadow in northern portion of fen; immediately southwest of small stream; dominated by Carex aquatilis, C. lasiocarpa, Asclepias incarnata, Symphyotrichum firmum, Eutrochium maculatum, Iris virginica common in area; located about 10m north-northwest of medium sized Quercus; several Salix spp. close to stream ground inundated.
