Habitat: Large fen with high quality portions on eastern edge. Beautiful large Larix laricina trees shelter very diverse ribbons of fen. Large west portion is dominated by weedy species including Agrostis gigantea. Phalaris arundinacea dominates the fen/woodland interfaces. Bordered on north by creek and on south by woodland upland. Carex stricta dominated are in western portion of fen; Agrostis gigantea and Phalaris arundinacea also common; on edge of mostly Cornus foemina shrub line. About 1m to the east of shrub line. Other species in area include Solidago gigantea, Persicaria hydropiperoides, Eutrochium maculatum, Ulmus americana, Mentha canadensis, and Lathyrus palustris. Ground moist but not wet.
