Small fen located between two lakes. Remnant patch of prairie fen with majorly altered hydrology due to historic marl mining. Water table lowered dramatically, which results in much drier soils. Very marly area dominated by prairie grasses. Grass dominate area in southern portion of prairie fen; common grasses include Bromus pubescens, Sorghastrum nutans, Andropogon gerardii, Muhlenbergia glomerata, and Sporobolus heterolepis. Many Frangula alnus sapling in area and shrub encroachment to the south leaves area vulnerable to encroachment; other species in area include Populus tremuloides, Dasiphora fruticosa, Doellingeria umbellata, and Pycnanthemum virginianum. Ground moist but not inundated. About 15 west of Little Lime Lake.
