Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Inundated flat on edge of Little Goose Creek; creak about 7m to the north of quadrat; lots of Frangula alnus between quadrat and stream; lots of Schoenoplectus acutus, Iris virginica, Lythrum salicaria and many grass species. Quadrat on edge of path (2 track? large game trail? cattle trail?); ground very wet and barely inundated in depressions.
