Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Open inundated area adjacent to agricultural field; low diversity area dominated by Symphyotrichum puniceum, Onoclea sensibilis, Typha latifolia, Lythrum salicaria. Alternate point chose due to non-prairie fen area; about 2m west of Salix tree.
