Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Open sedge meadow with scattered Juniperus trees; shrubs well-represented in large (10m diameter) and small (0.5m diameter) clumps; common shrubs include Betula pumila, Physocarpus opulifolius, and Dasiphora. Larix laricina scattered in area. Quadrat located about 10m west of shrub line and about 15 west of stream.
