Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Opening with shrubs <1m tall; surrounding shrubs about 3m tall; some Populus tremuloides and Ulmus in overstory in tall shrub zone; Cornus spp. In short shrub layer as well as Dasiphora fruticosa and Toxicodendron vernix; likely shrub-invaded sedge meadow as sedges and Asteraceae dominate herbaceous layer. Short shrub patch about 800 square meters.
