Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. 2m south of stream; shrubby riparian zone; about 20m north of driveway/road/2-track; Salix and Populus tremuloides in prairie fen overstory; Quercus in wooded overstory; about 10m to southwest; shrubs and vines common in immediate vicinity including Physocarpus opulifolius, Salix, and Vitis riparia. Carex stricta very common in herbaceous layer; Caltha palustris common in area; adjacent to seep.
