Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Sedge-prevalent wet area on edge of shrub encroachment. Ground wet and slightly mucky. Prevalent species include Thelypteris palustris, Rubus pubescens, Carex lacustris, C. stricta, and Agrostis gigantea. Cornus foemina, C. sericea, Salix spp. And Toxicodendron vernix common shurbs in area; Larix laricina trees to the south.
