Small fen dominated by Carex. Several shrub zones of Cornus and a large wooded zone of Tamarack, Cornus, and poplur. Autumn olive encroaching on edges and some within fen on northern side. Nirdlingers maintain surrounding prairie. Homeowner to north manacures land in the lawn fashion to the edge of his property. ***Moved 15m west from forest edge/original coordinates in woods. 15m from eastern border, north-south center of fen. 10m east of Typha stand. Carex, Typha, Onoclea sensibilis and Eupatorium perfoliatum dominant. Shrub layer of Cornus and Toxicodendron vernix every 4-9m2 and trees of aspen, tamarack, and Acer every 25m2. Ground uneven, hummocky, and moist. Probably submerged in spring.
Population - Common grass on edge of Typha stand. 50% of fruits spent. Many new upshoots without flowers.
