Long and narrow, mostly emergent fen located west of the Raisin River. There are a few stand alone deciduous trees and shrubs and a few pockets of shrub-carr and decidous trees (birch, maple, sumac). Many streams present. Fen is well traveled with worn trails and several marked fence posts. Brush piles, old burn spots, and stumps mark an actively maintained fen. North 150m from Typha/Phragmites and sweet grass stand. 80m west of eastern wooded border. Can see road @200m to the east. Cyperaceae dominated meadow with shrubs (Betula pumila and Salix) less than 2m tall. Stream 2m south of quadrat (pulled water sample from stream). Ground moist.
Population - Common, colonized area for 20-30m2, 10-20 per 1m2. On moist/dry soil near Rudbeckia, Lythrum salicaria, and Betula pumila.
