Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Cornus sp. Dominated sedge meadow; many Solidago spp., Galium boreale, Thelypteris palustris, Zizia aurea common in area. About 30m south and 40m east of tree lines; about 40m west of Little Goose Creek; soil is marly organic with some silt; moist, but not wet.
Flowers -NA.Well-represented in area; about 2-5 culms per sq. m for 10 sq. m; none with flowers or fruits found.
