Locality: Mexico, Sonora, Agua Prieta, Rancho Los Ojos, El Cajón Bonito, SSE-NNW riparian side canyon joining El Cajón Bonito drainage approx. 1.5 km W of Rancho Los Ojos headquarters, 49 km (by air) E of Agua Prieta, Cuenca Los Ojos Foundation conservation area, Sierra San Luis.

Habitat: Seasonal drainage in oak-juniper woodland/grassland.
Associated Species: Quercus toumeyi, Juniperus arizonica, Prosopis velutina, Agave palmeri, Mimosa aculeaticarpa var. biuncifera.
Description: Woody shrub, 80 cm; leaves dissected, lobes linear; ray and disk flowers yellow.
Occurrence Remarks: Madrean Discovery Expedition (MDE).
