Habitat:
Found in almost any bottom conditions, but grows best in rock/sand bottoms in 0.5-2.5 meters of water. Common assoc.: (Potamogeton pusillus) small pondweed, (Potamogeton richardsonii) clasping-leaf pondweed, (Vallisneria americana) wild celery, (Struckenia pectinata) sago pondweed, (Najas flexilis) busy pondweed.
